BAXTER CINEMA @ MILANO DESIGN WEEK 2023

Elegant, striking, surprising: Baxter Cinema’s 2023 set-up renews the unique atmosphere of a place designed to preserve an experience, that of the Baxter lifestyle.

An innovative, dynamic store, this year, the Cinema is dressed in bold colours and optical patterns. The underlying theme is already evident in the window, where the soft, comfortable volumes of the Jo sofa by Draga&Aurel and the Elli armchair by Christophe Delcourt, both in electric blue nubuck leather, catch the eye, together with the Miss Rope armchair by Studiopepe in black rope.

Descending the staircase to the large main area, we find another newcomer in the alcove formerly home to the ticket office: the Nuvola floor lamp by Draga&Aurel in three different sizes. The effect is similar to a veritable installation, a suggestion consistent with the layout of the former cinema hall, which retains the typical partitioning of art galleries. The partition walls this year are enriched by lacquered wood panelling in tobacco and chocolate tones, while the alcoves take on a new look with large geometric decorations.

The soul is that of a hybrid place, home to domestic settings to live in along with working spaces with material libraries where inspiration can flow.

This is the setting for the new 2023 collection and the bestsellers, presented in all-new finishes that recall this year’s palette: we recognise electric blue, nude pink and aquamarine green. Among others, we can appreciate the nubuck leather upholstery of Miami Soft and Budapest Soft, the new Kate table by Christophe Delcourt in Grand Antique d’Aubert, various compositions of the Libelle bookcase by Pietro Russo, and the So Far chairs and So Good armchairs by Studiopepe. The exhibition also includes some one-off pieces by Draga&Aurel, available only at the Baxter Cinema.
