SALONE DEL MOBILE 2019 - BACKSTAGE

      • YEAR: 2019

The new Baxter collection for the Milan Design Week - Salone del Mobile 2019 opens to different geographic horizons. The inspirations that led to the creation of new products and the offer of a new, unseen home atmosphere, come from houses from the Mediterranean, Brazil and the Nordics.

The items that animate them are Baxter’s icons and new projects that see the consolidation of historic partnerships such as the one with Paola Navone, the duo Draga&Aurel as well as Pietro Russo, and most recently, Studio Pepe and Federico Peri.

The stories told during the Milan Design Week, begin with leather, the material that represents the DNA of the company.

In a constant alternation between interiors and exteriors, the architecture reveals elegant spaces, immersed in a controlled green, with the purpose of recreating the inner courtyards of Mediterranean villas or warm environments embodying a type of Brazilian poetics, sometimes fitted with artificial elements outlining the purity of Scandinavian houses.

This year’s colour palette sees a great and retrò variety of shades. Ecru matched with purple, the colour of Tuscany’s vineyards contrasts with the peach tone, chosen for the nabuk leather. The hues are all rigorously matched with classic brown and grey leather. Even new marbles turn purple and violet.

German silver is the metal coating tables, coffee tables and lights.

Paola Navone signs the growth of the Open-air collection with the addition of new elements and materials, while the duo Draga&Aurel keeps on experimenting with resins, glass and the iconic lines of the design.

Studio Pepe designs a new collection of tables, chairs and lamps, where marble, metal, leather, concrete and neon blend to create “totemic” elements inspired by modern architecture.

Federico Perri signs a new collection inspired by the detail of the fashion world, ranging from padded materials to lighting. This year, Pietro Russo focuses on a specific shape, laden with meaning: the circle.
